Watercolor Painting Tutorial- Forest Stream

After sketching the outline of the forest stream onto watercolor paper, fix the sheet down onto a flat board by using masking tape. Firstly, I started the landscape painting of a forest stream by creating a sky.

Step 01: Painting the Sky

01. In the first stage, we’ll start with the sky. By using a flat brush to apply a layer of clean water to the area to be painted on the paper. This means I am preparing for the wet-on-wet technique.

Stage 01- Start with the sky

02. While the paper is still moist, Use Ultramarine Light to Paint the Sky. Save those white spaces of paper as clouds.

03. Before the paper dries, By using light washes of Payne’s gray to paint the dark side of clouds. Painting with a wet-on-wet technique like this will create a nice smooth blend of colors.
