The vast sky, the wide fields, huge clouds, and the small house looming on the horizon. All of them make us feel alone in the majestic space of nature. They also are my inspiration for me to paint this landscape in watercolor.

Necessary Materials
I use two goat hair brushes, using them alternately. In addition, I also use Raphael’s Mop brush #4, rigger brush, and calligraphy brush. I did not use masking fluid in this work but you can use them too.
Saunder Waterford cold-pressed 300gsm watercolor paper is my choice. Here is a list of the pigments I used: Lilac, Lavender, Opera Pink, Bright Violet, Naples Yellow, Orange yellow, Orange Red, Payne’s Gray, Leaf Green, Indanthrone Blue, Verditer Blue, and Ultramarine Blue.
Essentially, all we need is paint brushes, watercolor paper 100% cotton, professional-grade watercolor paints, masking tape, and a water bucket. Choose for yourself the best materials you can pay for and let’s get going.

The Step by Step Process for Watercolor painting landscape
Step 1: Pencil sketch of Landscape
Use a 2B or HB pencil to carefully draw the outline, just make it look simple and keep the sketch clean. After that, I glued the paper down onto the drawing board with masking tape.
Step 2: Painting the Sky and Clouds of the Landscape
Use a medium-sized mop brush to add a water layer down into the clouds area of the paper.
The highlight of the clouds is the white color of the paper. I mixed the Lilac with a little Lavender and a little Opera Pink to create light tones of the clouds. Next, mix the Lavender with Ultramarine Blue and a little Bright Violet to paint the mid-tone of them. Then, add a little Payne’s Gray and a little Indanthrone Blue to the previous mixture to deepen the dark part of the clouds.
Begin to paint the sky. By using clean water, I moisten the paper part of the sky area.
Next, mix Indanthrone Blue with a little Bright Violet to paint the Sky. During the natural drying process of the paper, increase the intensity of this mixture.
In this step, I come back to working with clouds, continue applying color layers until you are satisfied with the intensity of the shaded parts
Continue developing details of clouds to deepen their value. The clouds and sky part of the painting that I finished, I’m quite happy with it.
Step 3: Painting the fields, trees and house of the Landscape
Start with the first loose watercolor layer. I mixed the Naples Yellow to create the yellow of the wheat fields. Besides, Using a mixture of Leaf green and a little Verditer Blue to paint the green of the grass. Next, mix the Napple yellow with Lilac and a little Indanthrone Blue to paint the ground in front.
Then, the paper dries. Use Yellow oranges to paint the second layer of the wheat field. Add a little Payne’s Gray into a mixture previous of Leaf green and Verditer Blue to paint the dark tone of the grass.
By using a mixture of Payne’s gray, Leaf Green, and a little Ultramarine Blue. I paint the trees in the distance.
I set up a house with a red tiled roof and yellow painted walls, the purpose of this choice is to highlight the house in the middle of the large space. So I used Lemon Yellow to paint the wall, Orange Yellow for its shadow, and Orange Red for the roof tiles.Â
Next, Using a small brush with a mixture of Bright Violet, Orange-red, and a little Payne’s gray, I paint bushes in the foreground. Then, I decided to increase the value of the bushes in the foreground to increase the depth of space.
